What You Believe You Become
October 22, 20210

What do you believe about your life now? What do you believe about your potential now? If you reflect upon the number of recent tasks, projects, or goals you've begun, how many did you complete? How many from that list did you begin and then set aside, thinking there was not enough time, resources, support, or too many barriers to overcome?

If you have a record of not completing projects or tasks, do you place the responsibility upon yourself, or is it always a matter of external conditions, be it people or something else? These are important questions to consider while you begin to contemplate what it means to accomplish what's important and meaningful in your life. This is especially true for goals. If you have set goals for yourself, it means there is some outcome you hope to...

Your Future Is Yours to Create, As Long As You Have a Purpose
September 11, 20210

Think about today as a new beginning. From today on let no one, not any circumstance and anything said to you, change how you feel, what you believe about yourself, or how you view your future potential. Your future is yours to create.

Now the challenge is going to be living this as a matter of practice. What is it going to take to be able to set an example for yourself to live a life unchallenged by events going on around you, especially when there are those who want to upset you, put you down, distract you, make you feel as if you do not possess the skills or talents necessary to succeed, or you find yourself faced with events that are just too overwhelming?

It is all a matter of anchoring your life with a sense of purpose. You have to remember that you are always free...

You Can't Get to the Pinnacle in Life If You're Stuck at the Bottom
August 10, 20210

"You're aware of the limits of time. There's a fixed number of hours and time continues no matter what you're doing. You can be lost in reflection of what was and could have been, never to regain that time, or you can look ahead and plan for a better future. It's up to you." – Dr. Bruce A. Johnson

I wrote this recently for one of my daily inspirational messages. I have made this a daily practice, as part of starting my day with reflection, allowing myself to become emotionally grounded and my thoughts focused before I plug into technology and begin work. The reason I wrote it was simple, I'm reaching a milestone birthday this year and it has prompted a great deal of reflection, almost to the point at time I find myself thinking too much about the past and taking a proverbial...

Discover Why Self-Fulfillment Begins with You, Not a Job
April 22, 20210

When you wake up in the morning, do you immediately believe this is going to be a rewarding day? Do you look forward to what's ahead and know you will be able to feel good, regardless of what transpires throughout the day?

This would be the ultimate goal it seems, to have a life which flows easily from day to day, and one in which you are able to feel a sense of purpose no matter what occurs. Yet for most people, this isn't the case. There always is a sense of struggle for many, searching for something to give them hope, looking for happiness in things that can be acquired, basing how they feel upon external circumstances, or any other number of similar factors. In other words, a sense of self-fulfillment is in short supply and often tied to a state of happiness, related to...

Control, Alt, Delete 2020: It's Time to Move Forward, Into 2021
January 02, 20210

It's the start of a new year and time when many people begin to reflect upon the previous year. This when there are numerous reflective articles and television shows dedicated to looking back at the prior year, asking us to consider what we've learned, gained, and lost from 2020. Here's a thought: Let's forget 2020 and just move on.

I believe we all can agree, 2020 was one of the worst years in our collective histories, and one we would rather forget. To think of going back in time and remembering what we endured, is asking to self-inflict even more pain than is necessary. Now more than ever, let's just move forward. However, it may be easier said than done. This is when a purposeful strategy can help pull you out of 2020 mentally and into 2021, ready to feel a sense of...

How to Find Joy in a Job You No Longer Enjoy or Simply Tolerate
November 22, 20200

Without question, the business world has been changed and "business as usual" is no longer the case, and it may likely never be again. For those who are fortunate to still have gainful employment, the change in responsibilities has created a new focus on how work is performed. Those who are essential workers must guard their lives in a manner unlike anything they could have imagined. Those who made a transition from working in an office environment to becoming remote employees may now find themselves feeling a sense of performing in isolation.

One of the challenges for becoming a remote employee is the lack of interactions and camaraderie available in a physical office environment. This is an especially difficult learning curve for those who were used to working in an open...
